Wig Dressing

For my wig dressing project I decided to recreate a 1915 hairstyle (first image). During this project I learned how to dress a wig professionally, as well as the correct maintenance for wigs. I really enjoyed wig dressing and felt like I took to it naturally. It is an area I would like to look into more.

Screen Printing

This is a screen print which I did for a printing project. This was my first attempt at screen printing, and I am keen to try some more.

Theatre Making

In this project, I designed a production of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure. This was a coat I designed and made in half scale for the character of Lucio. My production was set in 18th century Venice. My design for Lucio was very Flamboyant with bright colours, as I thought that this suited the character. 

Kimono Project

Half scale Silk Kimono. This project practiced my flat drafting and basic sewing skills, as well as my hand finishings.

Sound of Music - Liesl Dress

I was comissioned to make this dress, a replica from the "Sixteen going on seventeen" scene from The Sound of Music film. Due to the budget I was given to make this in, I was unable to use my preferred choice of fabrics, however I believe that the fabric I did use works well in it's place. I constructed the dress using a mixture of flat drafting for the skirts, sleeves, and pleated bodice, and stand cutting for the bodice lining.

Superheroes

In this project, I designed and made 3 superhero costumes for characters that I created myself. The two green costumes are for characters who can speed up and slow down time, so I decided to show this by using a mixture of futuristic and historical influence in their costumes. I gave one a futuristic top and 18th century inspired skirt, and the other an 18th century inspired, boned bodice and a futuristic skirt. The third character can reflect powers so I decided to use a lot of reflective and metallic fabrics for her asymmetric bodice, skirt, cape and leggings. All were constructed on the stand.
